Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and recurring reactions on court had caused commentators to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour victory, took control to force a decider.

He rescued four early-game chances in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
